How the Foundation Carries Out its Grant Making

The Foundation supports larger initiatives that touch one or more of the states in NU’s service territory, with a specific focus on economic and community development, workforce development, and the environment. The Foundation carries out its grant making in one of two ways:

• We request proposals from organizations with which we have been in contact.
• We send out occasional requests for proposals that address a specific issue or area of interest.
